The tamarisk shrub is an acidic wild plant, and is evergreen. Furthermore, it is able to withstand desert conditions and drought. It can be grown in a variety of soil types. It is known to be among the best plants for pastures, thanks to its many green branches and its fragrant aroma when burned.

Growing the tamarisk shrub and environmental conditions:

The tamarisk is found in sand dunes, plains, and river valleys, and is more prevalent in dry environments and areas with low humidity. It can also thrive in dry or moist soil. Additionally, the tamarisk inhabits areas with both hot and dry climates and is tolerant of severe drought.


The tamarisk is grown in well-drained, sandy, saline and alkaline soil.

Watering method: Watering begins at the beginning of plant growth, and then the timing of watering will be determined according to soil dryness and the conditions of the region.

Propagation: By seeds.

Flowers and leaves: The flowers are very small, measuring 8 mm in diameter, and vary in color from yellow to pink. The leaves are succulent, known as cilia, and are green in color and reach a length of up to 5 cm.
